Original Painting of a Spotted Pardalote (Pardalotus punctatus) by Wildlife Artist & Online Art Tutor Paul Hopkinson
Can you believe that this delightful little bird is sometimes known as the ‘Headache Bird’, as a consequence of it repeatedly calling ‘sleep-may-be’ throughout the breeding season! Resident in eastern and southern Australia, it is a relatively common bird where eucalyptus trees are in abundance, where they nest in a burrow in the ground, which they line with bark strips.

Packaging & Materials
I have used 100% cotton watercolour paper and the finest brushes to produce the tiny details which bring this painting to life.
The painting will be carefully wrapped in cellophane and protected with additional packing. I aim for my originals to arrive with you in the same condition that they left me. I use the Royal Mail’s ‘Signed for Next Day’ or ‘International Tracked’ service.
A bit about me
I am a full time professional artist based in North Devon in the United Kingdom. Specialising in wildlife - animals, birds, insects and botanical studies, I love to capture the life within my paintings. I very much enjoy the process of working with the watercolour medium to create fine detail. My portfolio is ever expanding and many of my paintings are available as tutorials - both written and video. Take a look on my channels, and you may see this painting being created, maybe even have a go yourself!
