CARE TIPS
Make sure you clean body jewelry (and your hands!) before wearing it for the first time.
To keep your jewelry in great condition, remove it before showering, working out or swimming. Keep away from lotions, perfumes, cosmetics and chemicals. Wipe clean with a dry soft microfiber cloth.
Store your jewelry in its closed resealable bag (included in every order) to help prevent tarnishing.
All metal jewelry can tarnish! Metals can turn dark (oxidize) when worn for a variety of reasons, like being in contact with moisture, chemicals or cosmetics and will also react to individual skin acidity. That explains why jewelry can tarnish faster on some people than others. However, the discoloration should only be on the surface and the black areas can almost always be removed by gently wiping them with a soft (microfiber) cloth.
Silver and Moss body jewelry is for fully healed piercings only.
Allow your piercings time to heal before switching jewelry!
MATERIAL INFO
Almost all of my pieces can be made in a range of different materials. Which one is best for you depends on, well, you - and where on your body you intend to wear the piece! Here's a bit of info on all of the different metals I use:
925 STERLING SILVER:
The silver I use, 925 sterling, is made of 92% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, mostly copper. The addition of the other metals make this form of silver stronger and more durable. Sterling silver is only recommended for lobe/cartilage and/or nostril piercings that are fully healed. Avoid sterling silver for piercings in moist areas, like the septum or labret. To help your sterling silver pieces look great for longer, store them in a dark place, away from humidity and avoid contact with perfumes, lotions and make-up. You can clean your silver items with a soft cloth or commercial cleaner.
935 ARGENTIUM SILVER:
Argentium silver has a bright silver color, a higher silver content than traditional sterling, is made of recycled silver and nickel-free.
316L SURGICAL STEEL:
A common material for body piercings and jewelry, 316L surgical steel is durable, affordable and highly resistant to corrosion. It has a smooth, shiny finish and a dark silver color and is suitable for most -healed- body piercings. This material does contain trace amounts of nickel so it's not recommended for those with very sensitive skin.
