Understanding the "kerf" of the laser

The laser burns away a portion of material when it cuts through. This is known as the laser kerf and ranges from 0.08mm – 1mm depending on the material type, your laser lenses diameter, and focus distance. For a tighter connection, I can add kerf to any design. This allows the product to be assembled without glue or with a minimum amount of glue.

Can you design custom models

No, I don’t make designs for order. But if you have a lot of money and a desire for a grand project, we can figure that out. (Message me on etsy)

Project is wonderful. Pieces all fit nicely. Its a bit of time consuming gluing all the little boxes but looks great! Rather than etching the numbers on the boxes, I cut the numbers out on board painted white and then glued them onto boxes. I scored the numbers on the boxes for easy placement of the white numbers
