Feeling Halloween-ish? Or you're a Nightmare before Christmas fan... or you just really dig pumpkin decor. Well, whatever it is, cozy up under this spooky motif.

This is a detailed tutorial (written instructions accompanied by photos and spreadsheet) of a throw/blanket that cunningly conceals a pumpkin jack-o-lantern. Feeling lonely? Not anymore! And YES, it’s beginner-friendly, I promise. Using chain, dc and hdc, you too can make a spooky friend.

For a cozy blanket i suggest medium/worsted yarn with a recommended hook size between 5-6mm. 4-5 balls of Lion Jeans would be pretty nice and will result in a blanket approx 1.5m square on a 5mm hook. You can use literally ANY fibre and hook size for this pattern, but please be aware altering the hook size will embiggen or shrinken your finished work.
P.S. pattern is in US terms!

Why are there TWO pdf files? Simple! One is a spreadsheet that summarises the action in each motif row. It's print-friendly and I suggest you print it or save it to an e-reader to use after I walk you through the first few rows. The other is a detailed pdf with a hundred photos (ok, not quite but nearly) that show you where to put every stitch.
