If you are newer to this, here is the short version in plain language.

A 3D illusion file is a grayscale image. Your laser reads the shades of
gray and burns the dark parts deeper and the light parts shallower. That
difference in depth is what makes the finished piece look carved instead
of printed. You do not need to do anything special to create the effect -
it is already built into the file.

Three things to know:

1. Use the GRAYSCALE PNG, not the JPG. The JPG is only a preview.

2. Your machine needs to be set to a grayscale, "vary power" or
"3D engrave" mode. If it is set to a plain black-and-white threshold
mode, the depth effect will not show up and the burn will look flat.
This is the single most common issue people run into.

3. Light woods work best. Maple, basswood, birch plywood and light-colored
slate give the strongest contrast. Dark or heavily grained wood will
fight the design.

If any of that is unclear, message me before you buy. I would much rather
answer a question first than have you frustrated afterward.
