A stunning Fahrner shell cameo pendant or brooch with a beautiful silver setting and foldaway bale. The setting features marcasites and raised circle patterns within a rope effect border. The pendant is stamped at the bottom ORIGINAL FAHRNER TF 925

Theodore Fahrner was known for his Art Nouveau and Jugendstil jewellery that he produced at affordable prices for high quality skilled work. Since his death, his company has become known as one of the best silversmiths of the Art Deco era.

Condition
In very good vintage condition, there is some wear around the mouth (but this may have been present and deliberate when manufactured as the aim is to create a profile). The hairstyle is gorgeous, so much detail of the strands of hair you can only see well when you hold the pendant. There is some dirt present so I clean the cameo from time to time with mild soap and a gentle toothbrush. It still feels smooth and lustrous but you can add a tiny amount of baby oil afterwards if you clean it regularly.

Pendant measures 2" in height including the bale, and approximately 1 1/4" wide
