'History House' antique sewing Pattern #1912-A-010, in digital (PDF) format, for a lovely skirt with tulip-shape rounded hemline and striking contrast centre panel. Sewing Skill Level: (3/5) Intermediate.
This pattern, like all 'History House' patterns, is taken from an authentic historical source, in this case a skirt design that appeared in early 1912 French fashion publication. Aside from grading the pattern for a range of modern sizes and adding clarifying notations, no changes are made to the original cut of the garment. To find out more about the process of developing these patterns, see my Shop Owner details.
This digital pattern can be printed on any home printer, on standard 8-1/2" x 11" letter-size paper, or A4 size paper. It is not a diagram or scaled-down sketch that you have to enlarge. Once you print it out and assemble the printed pages, you'll have a regular FULL-SIZE pattern that can be immediately cut out and sewn, at a lower price than paper patterns, and of course with no shipping cost.
You can also choose to have your PDF pattern printed at a print shop or online service. See our website for details on 'History House' PDFs:

PLEASE NOTE: These are not "instant print" patterns -- the PDF files do need to be opened and the print options selected, but the printing process is quick and easy. Full printing instructions come with each PDF pattern.
BEFORE YOU BUY: The Adobe Reader is used around the world and is compatible with most computer operating systems ("OS"). It's already loaded on many computers. But we can't guarantee that Adobe's features will work on every possible OS (especially the very latest MACs). You can easily check to see if Adobe is available for your OS -- just copy the URL below into your browser, go to that Adobe page, then click on the drop-down list of operating systems. If your OS is on the list, then Adobe will work with it:

How does an instant digital download work? See: https://www.etsy.com/ca/help/article/3949 for details.
****Please note that this listing is for the digital sewing pattern only, not the finished garment(s) shown in the photos.****
The digital download files also include detailed, step-by-step sewing instructions (in English), with historical notes, suggested fabrics, and yardage and notion requirements. A copy of the pattern envelope cover (with the antique sketch) is included in the download package as well.
The only thing that is not included are layout sketches for the various fabric widths, since these would be very time-consuming to draw out, and would increase the cost of the patterns significantly. Instead, a test layout is suggested to determine exact yardage requirements.
The pictures show this skirt made in different versions and sizes in lightweight wool with contrast centre panel. The columnar silhouette is flattering to most figures. The skirt can be made in all one colour, but the contrast design sets off the curved hemline beautifully. Two-tone contrasts like this were high fashion in 1912.
This skirt works especially well as a dressy walking suit with 'History House' pattern #1912-A-006 (Cape Jacket) and blouse pattern #1912-A-003, as shown in some of the photos. You can find these patterns in the shop.
SIZE: This skirt is drafted in five ladies' sizes - Extra-Small to Extra-Large, and in 2 lengths printed on the pattern. All 5 sizes are included in the PDF pattern. Instructions are given for further size alterations if needed. Zoom in on the photo of the pattern envelope for measurements.
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Important: This skirt requires fabric at least 90cm (36”) wide.
All yardages are approximate, given for the largest size. Please do a test layout to ensure the precise yardage needed before purchasing your fabric.

RECOMMENDED SEWING SKILL LEVEL: (3/5) - Intermediate. This skirt will be a fairly straightforward project for anyone with moderately good sewing skills. It can be made simpler by substituting a zipper for the Edwardian button placket closure at back.
Make your historic Edwardian outfit truly authentic with this striking Titanic era skirt!
