Newport News 1921 Old Topo Map USGS Topographical Reprint

A careful reproduction of the oldest "quad" map of Newport News - the 1921 edition by the US Geological Survey. We have taken the original scan from the USGS archives and removed several unsightly markings and stamps, and added a bit of tone to the top border. The color has been lightened a bit as well - all with the goal of making a facsimile of this old map as it was when was first printed almost a century ago. (Some age discoloration remains.)

Newport News then as now, was an important site to the US military.
