Vintage Relco red-ware was made in Japan between the 1950’s and 1960’s. This little brown teapot with lid was known as “Brown Betty”, and is made of fired red clay glazed with brown “Rockingham” glaze. The hand painted trellis design (moriage) is embellished with petite flowers, vines and delicate leaves with gold, orange, pale blue and white paint. D shaped handle with Japan printed on unglazed bottom. This piece is in excellent condition no cracks, minor glaze chip on inner lid not visible or extreme wear.
