Condition of Vintage and Antique items

Condition is relative to age and no condition assessment implies unworn, unused, showroom-new condition. Flaws that are seen by our camera will be visible in photos, lesser signs of wear may be too minor for our camera to capture. Loss of gilt or flecks of paint, mild discolors, small or faint abrasions, patina and metal wear, crazing and craquelure and other glaze imperfections, wear to bottoms of bases, lines of separation in picture frame decorations, and all other signs of natural wear on vintage and antique items are not considered flaws, but rather are valuable indications of authentic age. Please expect these discreet signs of natural age-appropriate wear on all your vintage and antique treasures.

Buying Paintings and Framed Artwork

Paintings may have had retouch, reline, resize, restretch, or minor repair in their history that may be unknown by/unrelayed by us; backs of sealed artwork will likely not have been opened for inspection. Antique picture frames should be considered free with purchase of artwork, they will always show signs of distress, age, and wear including small losses of molded decoration; additional losses may occur in shipment and will not be covered by insurance nor are they a reason for refund, though all items can be returned for exchange or store credit within the return window (see Returns). Please notify us if you prefer to forego the frame and we will adjust the shipping price where possible.

Preparing items for transit, and hanging Artwork

After purchase, flat art may receive additional paper or fabric backing and/or improved hanging hardware at our discretion. All objects may be dusted, lightly cleaned and/or lightly polished before shipment. Any joined or applied elements (frame decorations, etc.) that might be at risk of coming loose in transit may be secured with quality repair and retouch mediums prior to shipment. When hanging artwork, please test capacity of walls as well as any hardware (hooks, wires, strings, etc.) that's been included with your purchase before hanging wall art, or consult a professional at your discretion.

Returns & Exchanges (US and most countries)

The US and most countries can return for exchange or store credit. Contact us within 3 days of original delivery, send back to airmail shipper within 7 days of original delivery, please email us for return address. If we allow a return after 7 days, a 3%/day rental fee will be deducted from credit until item reaches us. Original and return shipping is paid by buyer, shipping we cover will be deducted from exchange credit. Returns must be labeled as such as any customs or shipping fee incurred by us will be deducted from exchange credit. Exchange credits are not applicable to existing layaway and can not be used on other discounted or Sale items. Layaways returns or repeat returns will incur a 20 fee. No purchase is eligible for cash refund.

Returns & Exchanges (EU)

Our shop is governed by US law. Should Etsy require US sellers to abide EU regulation, our standard window for notice of intent to return will extend to 14 days, all other EU requirements will apply. Buyer pays return air shipping within 14 days of notice to return, and will receive a refund for any item returned in original condition; deductions made for items showing use or damage. If we must refund original shipping, we would no longer be able to accept future orders from that buyer at any of our shops. Alternatively, any buyer who pays their own shipping costs and opts to return for exchange as allowed by our standard return policy, is welcome to continue to shop with us. No shipping other than Standard is subject to refund.

Early 20th century bird motif embroidery surrounded by crewel embroidered linen pillows. The antique hand-embroidered center motif is edged in soft brush fringe and framed in the equally impressive crewel embroidered leaf and vine work. The pillows are edged in heavy striated velvet, and backed in a woven floral. Measures 21" square; big fluffy soft and wonderful, rare to find items that marry homey comfort and high style so well. Condition is excellent with age-appropriate wear.

As with all vintage and antique items, please expect the subtle signs of wear and/or man-made irregularity that is the hallmark and authentication of aged and hand-wrought merchandise.
