The Jesus Prayer, or The Prayer of the Heart, is one of the most simple of prayers: "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me." The book "The Way of the Pilgrim" follows a Russian pilgrim as he searches for a method to genuinely pray without ceasing. He finds his answer in this simple prayer, said along with the natural rhythms of breathing and heartbeat. My simple drawing is symbolic of the simplicity of the prayer - the repeated hearts in the drawing echo the repetitions of the prayer as it becomes part of the rhythm of our lives.

The original drawing was not generated digitally - it was drawn entirely by hand on watercolor paper using archival ink pens. Each little heart is slightly different, just like each of us. Color was added by hand using art markers.

I can personalize this cross by adding a name, by hand, in the same style as the prayer - made of hearts. Just select the "personalized" option and include the name in the "message to seller."

All my prints are professionally run by a small local printshop, on 100lb bright white, sustainably forested paper. These prints are cut to 12x16, 11x14, 8x10 and 5x7, ready to be matted or popped into a standard frame. They are all sold unmatted. Each print is labeled, signed and dated in pencil by the artist (me) on the back of the print.

Prints are carefully packaged in a protective plastic sleeve with a rigid backing board, and shipped via USPS in a photo/document mailer.
