Shipping Insurance is available upon request (there is a small additional cost). Items are all sent with tracking information, but we are not responsible for delivery errors on the part of USPS shipping and cannot replace lost or stolen items. Please understand we do everything we can to make sure your package gets to you, but once it leaves us it is out of our hands. If you are worried about potential postal issues please contact us immediately after ordering to discuss insurance or having the package marked to be held at your local post office for pickup. Shipping costs are non-refundable once an order is sent, as this is paid to USPS.

A spotted hyena in the Sumi-e ink style. The kanji (calligraphy text) on the left says 'hyena'. The red seal stamp below it is the namestamp of the artist, Foxfeather.

Sumi-E, or black ink painting, is a style of asian brush painting emphasizing simplicity of linework, exploring the nature of grey and black washes on white paper. Deceptively simple looking, sumi artwork is much more complex than it appears - taking a complex image or shape and expressing it in serene, suggested lines. I love the meditative quality of working only with a brush and ink, capturing the stylized essences of wildlife in this beautiful, unique medium.

This print would be a great gift for any hyena lover or look great hanging on your wall!

This is a high quality, archival photo print, a reproduction of the original painting. The image is approximately 8"x10.5" printed on an 8.5" x 11" piece of heavy white paper. Easy to frame in a standard size frame!

This listing is for a loose print, it is NOT matted as in the various examples.

**Watermarks (the black text that says foxloft.com) on the print is for web protection and will NOT be printed on your purchased print. The words 'http://foxloft.com' do not appear on the print - just on the online image! The artist's signature (the square japanese symbol and initials F.Z.) is printed along with the print as seen.

*How are prints packed?

Prints are put in protective, attractive plastic sleeves (perfect and ready for gift giving!) and then sandwiched with sturdy cardboard/matboard/hardboard to protect them during the shipping process.

*Will you sign your prints?

Certainly! Non-limited-edition prints are not signed by default, but I would be happy to sign them if you make a request. Just put 'please sign' in the notes during checkout or send me an email along with your order.
