This ultra low platform bed is designed to keep the bed height to an absolute minimum, while also keeping the mattress off the floor and allowing adequate airflow. The piece functions wonderfully in a finished attic space or other room with low ceilings, or any space where a low profile bed is desirable.
Like our other beds, we designed it with strong joinery and a clean simple appearance. We designed this frame to come apart easily and move without a lot of fuss. Once assembled though, it becomes clear that this is a piece that is here to stay. To accomplish this, we utilize solid wood joinery in combination with a high quality fastener system that locks the joint with incredible strength. This joinery method stays perfectly tight and will serve you well for many years to come.
Our bed is built with robust beech slats that nest into pocketed beech rails. Beds larger than twin are constructed with a solid beech mid beam and center leg to prevent sagging. The bed is designed for use without a foundation or box spring.
SUSTAINABILITY AND MATERIALS
All of our items are made to order from FSC-Certified Wood. This listing is for a solid maple bed in the size of your choosing, finished in the color of your choosing or in a natural wood with clear finish.
If painted, we finish these with an eco-friendly waterborne lacquer which has a satin sheen. It is a durable, cleanable finish. We can use any color from Benjamin Moore, so take your pick! (If you choose a custom color, please enter the color name and code into the order notes.) If you prefer a wood bed with a clear finish, we finish with Rubio Monocoat Oil.
DIMENSIONS
We make this to order in standard bed sizes. Use the drop down list to make your selection.
The platform is 3 inches from the ground. The bed frame is flush to the outside dimension of the mattress. Slats are spaced under 2 inches apart to provide a supportive foundation for your mattress.

This frame is a work of art. We were looking for a frame close to the ground that allowed airflow under the mattress. We have large dogs that tend to have joint issues in their older years. I'm incredibly happy with this purchase! It was packaged with care and showed up in perfect condition. It took my partner 12 minutes to assemble it after it was unboxed. (I timed him, lol) Each support board was flat and balanced. It came with instructions and pieces were well labeled. Hardware and installation tools provided were quality and all we needed!

Despite being a minimalist bed frame, this is an intricately engineered work of art. It is really eye-catching, with or without a mattress! I'm a skinny woman, and I alone assembled it in an hour, and part of that time was just the unpacking -- it was packed very well! Once assembled, it is rock-solid and designed to stay that way. Because this is my first slat bed, I had somewhat of an anxiety attack (after purchase) about the frame's appropriateness for the futon mattress I purchased. Kelly assured me that this frame would support the futon perfectly well, and it does, better than expected -- a very comfortable pairing. I chose a custom clear-laquer finish, which is beautiful, and really enhances the frame's wood. This is a lasting and memorable purchase, and many thanks to Kelly and Matthew for making it so!
