I love my puppyhammer!!! It's my first one. I've have a lot of experience with poi and decided to try it. Love the ovo heads. If you aren't already good at poi then wrap some socks around them. I got the smithy because I used it as my first tether for poi so why not. It hurts a bit when super tense I think because it's so thin. Other than putting a thicker rope on there would i cant think of anything to make that better. But I'm sure it would be too heavy to spin at that point. Someone recommended 6mm dyneema so I might check that out.
