Vintage Pre War Emerson Vacuum Tube Wood Radio - Stunning Wood and Restored

Emerson made some of the best quality radios during the pre-war period. Emerson is known for very reliable radios. They are also well known for their very impressive cabinet designs. Many of their radio cabinets were designed by the renowned Ingraham Cabinet Maker, Raymond Loewy, one of America's greatest industrial designers. This one is a 1939 Emerson Vacuum Tube Radio Model CG-318. This model is rarely seen for sale. I have seen only one in the last 15 years. Restored inside and out, the cabinet on this radio is stunningly beautiful. It's the burl wood veneer with a shiny lacquered finish that makes it stand out. The knobs--center knob is for tone control--, dial, dial pointer, and back cover are original. It has a 5-tube superhet chassis with both AM and SW bands. The chassis has been serviced by a technician and any capacitors, resistors, and tubes that needed to be changed were replaced with new ones. The radio is playing very well, tuning AM stations in my area. The approximate dimensions are 12" W X 9" H X6.75" D.
