What are the terms of use for Cheri Demeter patterns?

Each Cheri Demeter pattern and tutorial is licensed to the individual purchaser only. You may use it to make handmade finished items for personal use, gifts, or sale under the Small-Business License. Copyright and ownership of the design, pattern, tutorial, photographs, text, illustrations, and templates remain with Cheri Demeter Patterns. Purchasing a pattern gives you permission to use it under these terms, but does not transfer ownership of the design or files.

May I share, copy, or resell the pattern files?

No. You may not copy, share, lend, email, upload, translate, resell, reproduce, or redistribute the pattern, tutorial, photographs, instructions, illustrations, or templates in digital or printed form. Files may not be posted in groups, cloud folders, websites, social media, or file-sharing platforms. You may not sell printed copies, altered or redrawn patterns, derived templates, copied instructions, or sewing kits containing reproduced pattern pieces or tutorial pages.

May I sell finished items made from your patterns?

Yes. You may sell physical, handmade finished items made from a Cheri Demeter pattern. Each item must be handmade by you on a small scale and sold directly to individual customers through your own shop, handmade marketplaces, craft fairs, social media, commissions, or your own physical retail space. You do not need to purchase a separate commercial license, provided you follow the production limit and all other license terms.

How many finished items may I sell?

You may sell up to 100 handmade finished items in total per purchased pattern. This is a lifetime total for that pattern—not 100 items per year. The limit applies separately to each pattern you purchase. After reaching 100 finished items from one pattern, please contact Cheri Demeter Patterns before producing or selling additional pieces. Purchasing another copy does not automatically create a new 100-item allowance unless written permission is provided.

Do I need to credit Cheri Demeter Patterns?

Yes. When selling or promoting finished items, please include: “Made using a pattern by Cheri Demeter Patterns.” For online listings or social media, please also link to the Cheri Demeter Patterns shop or tag the shop account whenever possible. Credit acknowledges the original design, but it does not permit the pattern, photographs, instructions, or templates to be copied, shared, reproduced, or used as part of another tutorial or product.

May I use your patterns for sewing classes?

In-person sewing workshops are permitted only when every participant purchases their own individual copy of the pattern. One purchased pattern may not be photocopied, printed, emailed, displayed, or distributed for use by an entire class. Online classes, video tutorials, recorded workshops, digital courses, membership lessons, or social media tutorials based on a Cheri Demeter pattern are not permitted without prior written authorization.

May I use your tutorial photographs or instructions?

No. Photographs, illustrations, text, instructions, diagrams, and pattern pieces included in Cheri Demeter tutorials may not be used in your listings, social media, publications, classes, videos, websites, or other products. Please photograph your own finished handmade items when advertising them for sale. All original tutorial content remains protected and may not be reproduced, edited, republished, or presented as your own.

Medium-weight fabrics with some body work best, including wool, felted wool, cotton canvas, heavy linen, and corduroy. Cotton, lightweight canvas, sherpa, and similar fabrics may be used for the lining. Depending on your fabric choice, interfacing may be recommended for additional structure.

PRINTING

Print the pattern at 100% or Actual Size. Do not select “Fit to Page.” A test square is included so you can confirm the scale before printing the complete pattern.
