What if my order arrives damaged?

It breaks our heart when this happens, and thankfully, it’s very rare. Every piece is packed with great care, but vintage items can occasionally be damaged in transit despite our best efforts. If your order arrives damaged, please send me a direct message through Etsy as soon as possible, along with photos of the item and the packaging. My shipments are insured, and I’ll work with you directly to resolve the issue promptly. Please keep the damaged item and all original packaging until the claim is complete, as photos or additional information may be necessary.

What if my package is delayed?

All packages are shipped out within the specified time frame. Occasionally, there are delays with the postal service, especially on international shipping. I cannot be held responsible or provide compensation for delays that are out of my control.

Can you hold an item for me?

Yes! I’m happy to place a complimentary 24-hour hold on an item whenever possible. If you’d like me to reserve something for you, just send me a message and I’ll be happy to help.

Items Returned to Sender

Sometimes items are unclaimed or un-deliverable and they end up shipped back to me. When that happens, I will refund the order cost, less the cost of shipping paid to the postal service. If you would still like to purchase the item, I will re-list it as reserved for you for up to 3 business days so you may have time to re-purchase it.

How will my order be packaged?

Every Summersweet Home order is packed with care, using clean, quality packing materials chosen to protect your piece in transit. We've spent years shipping vintage home goods, including delicate glass, ceramics, framed pieces, textiles and other one-of-a-kind finds. Older objects often have their own quirks and vulnerable points, so I pack each item individually based on what it needs to at it's new home arrive safely. We use new boxes whenever possible, along with kraft paper, protective wrap and other appropriate materials. Fragile pieces receive additional reinforcement and cushioning as needed. All orders are packed neatly and thoughtfully enough to give as a gift.

What if my package is lost or stolen?

We know how disappointing it is when a package doesn’t arrive, and thankfully, this is also very rare. If your package appears to be lost, missing, or was marked delivered but cannot be located, please first check the tracking information associated with your Etsy order and then submit a Help with Order request through Etsy. Eligible purchases may be covered by Etsy Purchase Protection, and Etsy requires the buyer to initiate that process. I’m always happy to provide tracking information or any other details needed along the way.

Will you split up a set?

In most cases, we don’t divide sets or sell individual pieces separately. Many Summersweet Home sets are intentionally curated, including mixed-and-matched pieces We’ve collected because they work beautifully together. Others are original sets that have managed to remain together over the years. Sets are sold as listed rather than separated into individual pieces. Thanks for understanding!

Do you accept offers?

We don’t typically negotiate individual listing prices, as I take care to price each item thoughtfully based on its condition, quality, rarity and the current vintage market. We do love offering an occasional sale or coupon, though. Favoriting an item or following Summersweet Home on Etsy is the best way to catch those when they pop up.

Are your items cleaned before shipping?

Yes. We clean and prepare items before they’re listed and shipped, and linens are laundered unless there’s a specific reason they shouldn’t be. In those rare cases, we’ clearly note it in the listing. For washable textiles, I generally use Tide and OxiClean or an unscented detergent, depending on the piece. Because fragrance preferences and sensitivities vary, I can’t guarantee that vintage textiles will be completely scent-free. I also do my best to avoid sourcing pieces with strong musty, mothball or other unpleasant odors. That said, vintage items have lived previous lives, and I can’t guarantee that every piece will be completely free of scent, dust, stray pet hairs or other potential allergens.

Condition: Good vintage condition. Light surface wear consistent with age and gentle use. very faint hairline crack on bottom side, only noticeable upon extremely close inspection, was impossible to capture with my camera. Many years of use and enjoyment left!
