Highlights

Straw hat, inspired by historical depictions (see list of links below), suitable for reenacting antiquity and medieval.

Simple, low crown, blocked on a completely round hat block. I found during my research, that historical hats (up to the mid 19th century) have been blocked like this, instead of on an oval hat block, like it's done nowadays. So I went with this.
This hat doesn't have a headfitting sewn inside, that became the use later on. It can (and used to) be worn over a coif (men, unisex) or headscarf (women).

You can also use this a hat blank, and shape, sew and/or customize it to your specific era, for fantasy, LARP, etc etc.

Made from a grainy 100% natural straw. As this is a natural fibre, the colour and grain of the weave can vary slightly.
Available in head sizes: 56, 58, 60 cm.

Please note: The brim width will also vary slightly, depending on the head size. A size 54 will have a broader brim than a size 60.

This hat is wonderful. It is beautifully woven and comfortable to wear. There are more gaps between the strands than I realized, so it should be comfortable to wear when it’s hot outside but might not offer as much sun protection. The straw has a natural scent which is lovely. It will be perfect for the renaissance faire!
