Honeycomb Cake (Banh Bo Nuong) is a gluten-free, traditional Vietnamese dessert with a distinctive honeycomb-like structure and a bouncy, chewy texture. The taste is a mildly sweet blend of coconut, pandan and nutty flavor.
This delicious cake is made with rice and tapioca flour, eggs, sugar, coconut milk, and flavored with pandan extract. It is gently whipped and baked, cooled then frozen for one day and ready to ship in a 6" aluminum pan. Best enjoyed slightly warmed by steaming for 7-10 minutes or microwaving for 15-30 seconds (depending on wattage).
Made to order only! Cakes will be frozen before shipment to allow maximum freshness upon delivery. Please follow the below instructions to restore texture.
RE-HEATING:
Microwave: Re-heat each slice for 15-30 seconds, depending on size of wattage, or soft to touch.
Steamed: Re-heat each slice for 7-10 minutes. May also re-heat entire cake for 15-20 minutes.
STORAGE:
Refrigerated: Up to 5 days. Store in air tight container/ plastic wrap to retain moisture. Thaw to room temperature, then re-heat to restore bouncy, chewy texture.
Freeze: Up to 2 months. Store in air tight container/ plastic wrap to retain moisture. Thaw to room temperature, then re-heat to restore bouncy, chewy texture.
SHIPPING:
To ensure freshness, orders will only ship on Mondays-Wednesdays via USPS Priority Mail (1-3 days). This will prevent the cake from sitting in a warehouse over the weekends.
Shipping only within NYS. Local pick-up is also available!
