The Beckett Crochet Blanket Pattern is a beautifully textured crochet blanket that combines a simple stitch pattern with self-striping yarn to create soft flowing color changes.

Named after the Old English word meaning a small brook or stream, the Beckett Blanket features gentle waves of texture that allow the colors of self-striping yarn to flow smoothly across the fabric.

One of the unique features of this blanket is how well the stitch pattern works with self-striping yarn. Instead of abrupt color changes appearing in the middle of rows, the alternating stitch textures and the addition of a solid yarn help soften those transitions so the colors blend naturally.

This pattern is also part of my year-long experiment with self-striping yarn, where I’m testing different stitch patterns to see which ones showcase these beautiful yarns best.

Even though the finished blanket looks intricate, the stitch pattern is easy to learn and becomes wonderfully rhythmic once you get going.
