🖨️ HOW IT PRINTS

Large charts print across several sheets at about 3mm per stitch, which is the size you can actually work from. Neighbouring sheets share one row or one column so nothing is lost in the join, and the row and column numbers are absolute, so a number means the same stitch on every sheet.

🧵 THREAD

Every colour is a real DMC stranded cotton number with its real DMC name, and a swatch is printed beside it. Nothing is approximate and no shade is invented. Two strands on 14 count is the usual choice. Because the thread list gives the exact stitch count per colour, you can work out what to buy instead of guessing.

🔍 CHARTED WITH CARE

10 colours and not one wasted. The smallest colour in this chart still covers 14 stitches, so there is no confetti of stray single stitches scattered across the cloth. Symbols are picked to stay easy to tell apart, and the most stitched colours get the plainest symbols. Centre lines are marked on the chart, so you can fold your fabric in four and start counting from the middle.

🪡 SKILL LEVEL

Beginner technique, medium project. 6,700 stitches, about 20 hours at a steady 300 stitches an hour. Your own pace will differ.

Whole cross stitches only. No fractional stitches, no backstitch, no French knots, no blended threads. If you can count squares and follow a symbol key you can stitch this. It is a long project rather than a difficult one. The shading is done with colour, not with technique.
