Every record sheet in this pack prints its own number out of 20 in the top right corner, and the register lists all 20 by number, so a run can be handed over in order and a missing sheet can be seen rather than remembered.

Six months of records you can hand over without explaining.

Most childminder paperwork on sale is a pile of forms. That is not the part that goes wrong. The part that goes wrong is six months later, when the forms are filled in and living in a folder in no particular order, and somebody wants to see all of one kind.

The sheets are undated, so the pack does not expire in September. It is laid out for the framework that applies from 1 September 2026 and numbered for every month after it.

WHAT IS IN IT

20 record sheets, in seven sections. The number in brackets is how many sheets that section holds.

SLEEP AND REST (2)
Sleep check record. One row for one sleep: down at, how they were settled, the time and initials of every check while they sleep, woken at, and by whom.
Sleep and rest, what the parent agreed. One sheet for one child, filled in with the parent and signed by them, in their words.

SCREEN USE (1)
Screen use record. What was on, for how long, who was with them, and from and to rather than a length.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE (2)
Daily register. Who was here, when they came, when they went, who brought them, who collected them, signed at the door.
Existing injury on arrival. Anything already there when a child arrives, written down before the day starts. This is the sheet that speaks for you when a mark arrives with the child.

ACCIDENT, INJURY AND CONCERN (4)
Accident and injury record. One sheet for one accident, filled in the same day and signed by the parent.
Incident and near miss record. For something that happened without an injury, which is the record nobody keeps and everybody is asked for.
Head injury observation record. Timed observations after a bump to the head.
Record of concern. Facts only, in the words they were said in.

MEDICATION AND HEALTH (3)
Medication permission. Filled in and signed by the parent before anything is given. One sheet for one medicine, copied from the label.
Medication given record. One row for one dose, written at the time: what, how much, given by, witnessed by, and the parent's signature.
Allergy and dietary record. One sheet for one child, in the parent's words, signed by them, kept where food is prepared.

DAILY CARE (3)
Daily diary. The sheet a parent reads at the door, and the last two lines are the ones they answer.
Food and drink record. What was offered and what was actually eaten.
Nappy and toileting record. One row each time, written at the time.

SAFETY CHECKS AND OUTINGS (5)
Opening and closing check. The same look round, twice a day, initialled.
Fire evacuation drill. One sheet for one drill, with who was here and how long it took.
Visitor record. Anybody in the setting who is not a child, in or out, with the reason.
Outing record. One row for one outing, with times and a contact number.
Animals on the premises. One sheet for the setting, updated when it changes, and what the parent was told.

THREE FILES

A start here sheet. One page. Which file to print first, which pages to print at all, and the two things worth reading before you write in any of it.

The pack. The register, the twenty record sheets, a page on how it is put together, and a page of limits. 25 pages.

The refill pack. The twenty record sheets on their own, still numbered, so you can reprint one sheet forty times without printing the rest. 20 pages.

WHAT THIS IS NOT, AND PLEASE READ THIS PART

It is not editable. There is no Word file and no Canva template. It is a fixed PDF designed to be printed and written on by hand, and if you want to type into your paperwork this is the wrong listing.

It does not make your setting compliant, and no document sold by anybody does. Ofsted approves no paperwork. What this pack does is name the framework's date, and say which section is for which of the September changes. It claims nothing about an inspection.

It contains no advice. No ratios, no sleep positions, no screen time limits, no first aid, no safeguarding thresholds. Where another pack gives you guidance, this one gives you a sheet with the fields on it. The guidance is the framework's job and it is free on gov.uk.

It adds nothing up. A printed PDF carries nothing from one page to the next, so every total is yours to write.

It carries no invoices, fee logs, mileage logs, contracts or policies. Those need your business name printed on them or they need arithmetic, and both are somebody else's product.

It is undated, so it does not expire in December.

PRINTING

A4. Black text on white, no full bleed backgrounds, so a home printer and an ordinary ink cartridge are enough. There is nothing to print in colour and no page is more than a twentieth ink, so a pack you reprint every week costs almost nothing to keep running. Every sheet is designed to be printed one at a time. Written in British English.

FILLING THEM IN

Every sheet asks for the date and who wrote it before it asks anything else, because those are the two nobody can reconstruct at seven in the evening. Rows that need attributing have a column for initials, so a sheet can be shared with an assistant and still say who wrote which line.

WHO IT IS FOR

A registered childminder in England keeping records by hand. It works for a nursery room or an after school club too, but it was laid out for a childminder working alone, which is why nothing on it assumes a second adult to countersign.
