Find the Killer New Year's Eve murder mystery: a name elimination detective game with 2,600 suspects and 15 clues.

New Year's Eve in the Starlight Ballroom, thirty floors up under the Halcyon hotel's great clock. That afternoon the hotel's historian opened a time capsule sealed in 1927, and she promised to read one of its letters after the countdown. At 11:52 p.m. she is found in the clock room behind the clock face, and the capsule is empty. The lifts are stopped and all 2,600 guests are checked out at the coat check. Find the killer before the first dawn of the new year.

HOW IT WORKS: Every clue describes the killer, and each one comes with a witness quote. Cross out everyone in the register who doesn't fit. Apply all the clues, including a few tricky "if... then" ones, and exactly one name is left. Every case has exactly one answer, and every clue matters.

WHAT YOU GET: the case file in US Letter (54 pages) and A4 (52 pages): an illustrated vintage cover, a friendly how-to from Detective Tofu with a tiny worked example, the story with a map of the scene, who's who, every clue with a witness quote, the full register with a clue tracker and a box to mark on every row, a verdict page and a certificate. Plus a separate solution file (the killer, what really happened, and how many people each clue rules out), so you can't spoil it by accident.

DETAILS: solo or for two; 5-8 hours over several sittings. Black-and-white printing is fine, or solve on a tablet with any pen app. Personal use in one household; please don't share or resell.
