Jewelry Pricing Calculator, Etsy Fee, and Profit Tool (Excel and Google Sheets)

A spreadsheet that works out what each of your jewelry pieces costs to make and what to charge for it after Etsy, Shopify, craft fair or wholesale fees.

The Pricing & Profit Calculator (Jewelry Edition) is a spreadsheet for jewelry makers. Add your wire, chain, findings, beads, charms, cards and boxes once, list what goes into each piece, and it does the maths for you.

WHAT IT DOES
• Works out what one piece really costs: wire and chain by the inch + findings + beads by the strand + packaging + your time + a share of your monthly bills
• Metal prices moved? Update the price of the coil or chain once and every piece that uses it reprices itself
• Suggests the price that hits your target profit margin after Etsy, Shopify, card-reader or wholesale fees, including free-shipping listings
• Compares Etsy, Etsy Offsite Ads, Shopify, Amazon Handmade, craft fairs and wholesale side by side
• Flags any piece priced below your target margin and shows what that costs you each month and each year
• Price-change simulator: test a new price and see your profit per sale, margin and how many pieces a month you need to sell to hit your goal
• Shows a wholesale price for each piece and whether your retail price can support selling to boutiques

WHAT'S INSIDE
• Jewelry Edition, SAMPLE: a worked example jewelry shop (gold-filled hoops, freshwater pearl drop earrings, a birthstone charm necklace, an amethyst stretch bracelet, a pearl station necklace and a sterling stacking ring)
• Jewelry Edition, BLANK: ready for your own designs, with a starter list of jewelry supplies to fill in
• Quick-Start Guide (4-page PDF): the 5 layers of a handmade price, the formula in plain words, a worked example, 5 pricing mistakes, and wholesale vs retail

7 tabs: Start Here, Settings, Materials (up to 200), Recipes (up to 600 lines), Products (up to 100), Price Check and Shop Summary.

WORKS WITH
Microsoft Excel (2016 or newer, desktop or web) and Google Sheets (free). There are no macros or add-ons, and it's a one-time purchase. Your numbers stay in your own file. Set-up takes about 20 minutes.

FEES ARE EDITABLE
The Etsy, Shopify, Amazon Handmade and card-reader fees are filled in with US defaults as of October 2026. Platforms change their fees, so every fee is a cell you can change, including for other countries.

GOOD TO KNOW
• Use whatever units you buy in: inches or feet of wire and chain, pairs of ear wires, beads each, grams of silver.
• The calculator does not connect to your Etsy or Shopify account and does not pull your sales automatically. You type your own costs and prices.
• Works in any currency: the maths is the same, just change the number format.
• Educational tool, not tax or financial advice.
