Gemstone: Opal

Mexican Fire Opal stud earrings set in sterling silver dress up any ear and face. Their bright orange tones add a drama and interest to your earlobes and is a great way to add elegance and interest to an understated outfit.

These are constructed from sterling silver bezel cups and posts. Please allow for some handmade variance, and also subtle natural variations in the gemstones themselves.

I make these mexican fire opal stud earrings in rounds and ovals from 3 mm to 10 x 8 mm; please see sizes and shapes in options above.

The stones and settings are variously sized in millimeters. The posts are .033" thick (.85 mm approximate) and 3/8" long (10 mm). All earrings come with matching sterling earnuts and are sold in pairs. These are all light and comfortable to wear.

I make these stud earrings as singles, with longer posts and with other sizes and shapes of ethiopian black opal as well; please convo if you're looking for something not listed.

Also occasionally called jelly opal, this variety of opal is known for orange body colors that range from light yellowish orange to dark reddish orange tones. It is not usually cut to show play of color but it is not uncommon to find this variety of opal with this characteristic phenomena. Opal is a traditional birthstone for October.
