Aluminum is a super versatile, lightweight metal that doesn’t tarnish. It's perfect for bangles and bracelets because it's rare that it causes a reaction making it ideal for wearers with more sensitive skin. It's also a lovely metal to make special keyrings out of because it is just so versatile. To care for your aluminium, simply wash with hand soap and water and polish afterwards with a jewellery cloth.

Copper is a beautiful bright metal that is naturally anti-microbial and believed to have healing properties. Copper will take on a natural patina of its own simply by being exposed to oxygen. The main concern with copper jewellery is the possibility of skin discolouration. This is often caused by the natural pH level of your skin. A quick dip in silver jewellery cleaner will bring it up nice and shiny again if you prefer. Any metal polishing product such as Autosol will of course bring copper up beautifully! Make sure you polish copper regularly using a soft cloth to remove any residue.

Caring for Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is super strong, incredibly durable and resembles platinum... yet costs significantly less than most other precious metals. Stainless steel is hypoallergenic making it ideal for people who tend to have a reaction to other metals and is very quickly becoming a very popular choice for jewellery. Stainless steel will not rust, tarnish or stain and retains its high shine with little effort on your behalf. To care for your stainless steel, all you need is warm water, a cloth and dish washing soap. After cleaning, simply polish it lightly with a dry cloth to remove any water spots.

Caring for Silver Plated Cutlery

Silver plated cutlery is wonderfully decadent. It's incredibly versatile and easy to care for. It is usually made from a base metal such as brass which has been plated with a layer of sterling silver. To care for your silver plated cutlery, it's always best to hand wash and not use a dishwasher. Don’t let it come into contact with stainless steel as this can cause corrosion as the metals react. Ensure you dry each piece by hand and use a flannel cloth and specialised silver polish (or a silver polishing cloth) to maintain the shine.

What is hand stamping?

Using a hammer and punch, every single character is individually stamped by hand, by myself. This means the alignment, spacing and depth of each character can vary and they won't always be perfectly straight. This is not classed as a fault, therefore will not be an accepted reason for return. It is just part of the charm of every hand stamped item. Hand stamping mustn’t be confused with engraving which is done by machine. Engraving removes the metal where as hand stamping displaces it - this means there’s sometimes a slight mark on the opposite side of the metal.

Please ensure you provide the correct wording and spelling for personalised items. I’ll always contact you if I think there’s an error, but it is your responsibility to ensure what you supply is correct.
