Gold filled jewelry is very high quality, tarnish resistant and when cared for properly a gold filled piece will last a lifetime. 14K gold filled is a thick layer of 14K gold mechanically bonded under high heat and pressure to a base metal such as brass or copper. Gold filled does not peel like plated or "dipped" products. Nor does it tarnish as readily as silver.
