Teal Zip-Front Housecoat for Elderly People

Silkandmore now makes specialized clothing for seniors.
I did a survey of some of my elderly and disabled customers. Some had issues with arms, some in wheelchairs, some with Rhuematoid arthritis. The overall sense I got was that what was needed was a garment that makes you comfortable, has easy functionality, and all in all makes you FEEL good. So I designed some clothing that would fit the needs of the elderly.

These housecoat combines the ease and coverage of a robe with the style of a caftan. Besides being beautiful and incredibly comfortable this unique garment offers many benefits to our elderly and disabled customers.

Ease of Use - It is so easy to get in and out of. The housecoat has a zipper in the front so that it can be stepped in and pulled up or a it can be pulled down over the head for easy and self dressing. No buttons for those who have arthritis or neurological issues of the upper limbs. It also features roomy sleeves which are ideal as they make it easy to put on and off.

Construction-The cotton used to make this is very soft, the attention paid to the inside (seams, hems etc.) is identical to the outside. You can wear this around the home, have a guest over or go to the mailbox. While these "feel" as comfortable as a regular robe you will "look" as if you got "dressed" up for the day. These are also ideal for the hospital stay.

Lining- While the cotton used in this is very soft, it's weight and draping provides adequate coverage. Some women may choose to have lining added for extra coverage due to previous surgeries such as mastectomies , -ostomy appliances, etc. This feature is available at an additional charge of $10 for women who want extra coverage

Pockets-Women who are disabled and need assistive devices such as a cane or have a weakness or disability of the hands/arms need will appreciate the pockets on the housecoat to carry items.

Sizing- The housecoat is made for you based not just on "dress size." when ordering, an additional measurement for height is used for a true fit. This allows for the correct size AND length of your housecoat. For disabled women in wheelchairs or who ride scooter there is sufficient coverage in the skirt area to cover the lap.

Fabric Pattern - In order to make buying experience simple and easy for my lovely elderly customers, I have put my housecoats color wise. So now you would be able to see all the patters available in one color in one picture itself. So like in the above picture, you will see 6 different patterns available in Teal and you can simply select whichever you like. When making the purchase, please refer to the the first picture. You can choose your pattern of choice from among the standing and seated people in that picture.
