This is an extremely rare Art Deco dance compact with a perfume chamber located inside the body of the powder compact. The silver tone metal compact is decorated with beautiful engine-turned engravings; and the front features a hand painted guilloché floral cartouche. The sides of the compact, the finger ring and the chain are heavily embossed.

The front of the compact opens to the powder well, a rouge compartment, and a half moon glass mirror. The perfume well is located behind the powder well. The perfume cap is located on the outside of the compact. It unscrews to reveal the small dauber inside. This allows you to daub a little perfume on your wrist without disturbing the rest of the compact. (Currently there is no evidence of perfume inside; the choice of perfume would be up to the new owner.)

The compact is in very good antique condition. The guilloché enamel is flawless. With the exception of some minor scuffing on the back of the compact, the body of the compact is in excellent condition. The mirror does show a little haze and some separation of the silvering from its backing. The compact measures about 2.5 inches long, a little over 2 inches in width, and .5 inch deep. The chain is 3.5 inches long.

Powder compacts with an integrated perfume flask are very rare and highly collectible. And it is even more rare to find one that is also a dance compact. Almost an antique, at close to 100 years of age, it remains in remarkably good condition.
