This post mastectomy breast cancer hoodie with drain pockets is an affordable, comfortable way to manage drains post mastectomy, or any other surgery that may require them. This hoodie is so lightweight and soft as a cloud to help you feel so comfortable during your recovery. You will be able to go out with your surgical drains safely hidden. The best part is, it can still be worn after surgery. The pockets are useful for so many things!
This long sleeve sweatshirt has two large pockets that can hold multiple drains on each side. There is one large pocket inside each front flap of the hoodie. This lightweight hoodie is so comfortable to put on and zip up since you will be unable to lift your arms after surgery.
These hoodies run true to size. Ordering in your normal size will allow a comfortable fit with the drains. It is made of a soft, lightweight rayon/spandex blend. See last photo for size chart.
When I had my bilateral mastectomy I had no idea that the drains would be the worst part of it. I asked around to see what I could do to make the process easier. Everyone told me the drains were very annoying because you had to attach them to the inside of your clothes with little safety pins. Then you had to undo and redo the safety pins multiple times a day, on multiple drains, to empty them. Not easy when you are sore and feeling terrible. After doing some research online and finding post surgery camisoles cost $50-$60 each, for something you only need for two to four weeks, I decided to sew pockets to the inside of some of my shirts and it made the whole process so much easier. The nurses also really appreciated it because they are often the ones doing the pinning in the first couple of days after surgery.
