Materials & Yarn Suggestions

The sample was made with YarnArt Begonia (100% cotton, fingering weight) and a 2 mm crochet hook. The pattern also works well with Schachenmayr Catania Fine Solids and Hobbii Friends Cotton 8/4 Solids.

You can easily customize the finished size by choosing a slightly finer or thicker yarn, or by changing the hook size.

After completing Round 10, measure the diameter of your work and multiply it by π (3.14) to estimate the finished circumference before continuing.

Gauge

3 × 3 inches (7.5 × 7.5 cm) = 18 dc × 8 rounds

Finished Size

Using the recommended gauge, the finished hat measures approximately:

• Circumference: 22 inches (56 cm)
• Depth: 7 to 8 inches (18 to 20 cm)

Because the hat is worked from the crown downward, you can easily stop earlier or continue crocheting to achieve your preferred length.
