Fabrics
Elastic band
Buttons
Serger and sewing machine

If you don't have a serger you can substitute all serged seams with your sewing machine by doing a small zig-zag stitch.

# Suggested fabric: Mid weight fabric - Cotton, Linen, Jean, Corduroy, Wool

The pants turned out great in a headstock denim. Really interesting silhouette. However the instructions were not that great. The waist band was not that easy to install per instructions.

I love the look of these pants but need better instructions for the waistband as others said. the buttonhole markings are confusing because the different size locations are overlapping and the jumble of colors are hard to figure out. I wish there were layers to make this easier to see. I am to the part of making button holes and you cant really just guess and hope for the best...You need 2 button holes per button and bulky fabric like corduroy (what I am using) is too thick for flat buttons, I think a button with a shank is necessary. Have to guess on button size as well. If it works out, these pants will be wonderful.

I had troubles figuring out the band area and button markings but I managed it because of this I had to make one button as I lost the marking for the buttonholes. Eitherway its a beautiful piece of pattern and I love the slanted placket!

The sizing is absolutely huge I also found the instructions pretty light, especially around the finishing up of the waistband of the item. I have made some trousers but the sizing is so off it’s going to be a while before my son can wear them which is really frustrating as he was really excited.
