I am so excited about this crochet cardigan. Look at the sleeves! Statement sleeves are totally on-trend and this little guys got ‘em.

But oh boy, I could NOT decide what to call this pattern, it has kimono sleeves but the length is short, it’s open like a cardigan but thick like a jacket, it’s made out of worsted yarn but it’s chunky (chunky is super modern right now). And that is why the name Super Chunk Kimono Cardi is so “local diner sampler plate.” I really could have named it the Super Chunk Kimono Cardi Coat. But that would have been ridiculous. Well whatever you call it, you’re gonna love it once you make it!

First of all, it whips up fast because you will be holding three strands of yarn together to make a super bulky yarn. The stitches are huge, each is a little bigger than .5” wide!

And second, this piece is versatile, I’m even going to go so far as to say you can wear it year round. In the winter you can wear it over a shirt as a sweater indoors, in spring and fall it will become your go to cute coat for outdoors, and in the summer you can wear it in my basement. Seriously, why is it so cold down there? I’m going to go down there to get a hammer one day and find that a family of freeloading penguins has moved in. And they will all be wearing tiny Super Chunk Kimono Cardis!

I've placed the photos at the beginning and end of the file so they won't get in the way of the written pattern and so you can choose not to print them. NO PHYSICAL PRODUCT will be sent through postal mail.

The files are standard printing size, 8.5" x 11."

What materials do I need?

● Lion Brand Heartland Yarn, worsted 4-Medium (100% acrylic, 251 yds/230 m, 5 oz/142 g), 3 (3, 4, 4, 4, 5) skeins each of Color (A) Acadia, (B) Badlands, and (C) Bryce Canyon
● Crochet hook size US N/P-15 (10 mm)
● Tapestry needle
● Pins, I use Clover Bamboo Marking Pins
● Scissors

Yarn Substitution: Instead of using 3 strands of any worsted 4-Medium yarn, one strand of 6-Super Bulky can be substituted. Vary your hook size to obtain gauge. Crochet hook size US L-11 (8 mm) is recommended.

How does a digital download work?
