Its open-back design helps the airs pass through the flesh-side of the leather.
If you don't have a 3D printer, you may search for a 3D printing shop near you and just send the STL files to them.

mold digital i don't like
3 stars because i did afterall get a 3D program of the frame. Pattern however is not really a pattern. No description on what thickness of leather should be used. When i asked the seller about the issue, he never got back to me. I had to re-design the 3d pattern and make it deeper since the case didn’t fit for airpods at all. Waste of money unfortunally since i ended up re-making the whole design/pattern my self to make it work. Ps: I tried with 1mm and 1,5mm veg tanned leather as i think thinner leather is not really going to protect my airpod case (like what’s the point then)? Lid doesn’t close as it doesn’t fit= i had to re-design it all to work. Picture attached of the «pattern». Ps: i couldn’t attach a pic since i didn’t give 5 stars. It’s literally a square piece of paper with lines of where to cut 🤷🏼♀️
