WHAT HAPPENS IF MY ITEM IS DAMAGED OR BROKEN IN TRANSIT?

All our shipments are insured. If your item arrives broken or damaged, let us know immediately. Send us a photo of the box and the item so we can file an insurance claim with the appropriate carrier, and please retain the packaging until the claim has been resolved, in case the insurance company requires it.

DO YOU COMBINE SHIPPING?

When an order includes multiple items and doesn't qualify for free shipping, we will combine shipping, if practical, and refund any overages collected once the cost of actual postage is determined.

For purposes of selling on Etsy, "vintage" is defined as anything that is at least 20 years old. Everything we sell at AlegriaCollection is, in fact, 20 years old or older. Consequently, most of our items (unless identified as "new old stock") show evidence of previous use and, in general, this is viewed as adding to the aged character of a piece. We make every effort to accurately describe any flaws and encourage you to carefully read the description, particularly when purchasing vintage as a gift.

WHAT ARE YOUR PROCESSING AND SHIPPING TIMES?

We begin processing orders immediately upon receipt and will ship--with tracking--within the time frame specified in the listing. Should it be necessary for us to delay shipping for any reason, you will be notified right away and a new shipping date will be provided. Once a package is handed to the carrier(s), delivery deadlines become their responsibility and are outside of our control. If and when delays occur, we will be happy to assist in the tracking process if your efforts are unsuccessful.

DO YOU ACCEPT RETURNS, EXCHANGES OR CANCELLATIONS?

We do not accept exchanges or cancellations. Returns will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and if a return is agreed upon, the original cost of shipping--if paid by AlegriaCollection--will not be refunded and you will be responsible for paying return shipping.

Everything we sell at AlegriaCollection has been used previously, unless it's identified as "new old stock" or "new in box." Nevertheless, whether used or new, our products were manufactured by someone else, and we make no warranties, express or implied, as to the safety of any item. Vintage electric and electronic items should be inspected by qualified professionals. Other items, such as toys, likely will not meet today's safety standards, and are sold as collectibles, not for use by children. When making a purchase from AlegriaCollection, you agree to conduct your own due diligence as to safety, will use the item at your own risk, and will hold AlegriaCollection harmless in case of damage to property, injury or death.

WHY DON'T YOU SHIP TO GERMANY OR FRANCE?

We do NOT ship to Germany or France because we are unable to comply with the new requirements of Germany’s VerpackG (Packaging Act). The Packaging Act promotes recycling and reuse of packaging materials (e.g., cardboard boxes, tape, and bubble wrap), and although we are all for recycling and reusing, as a very small business, we are unable to comply with the extremely burdensome requirements of the Act. France has similar burdensome requirements which we are unable to comply with. Our apologies to our German and French customers.

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

Yes, except to Germany and France (see above) and other areas prohibited by the US government. Please contact us for shipping quotes to destinations outside the United States.

SEE SHIPPING POLICY BELOW. This antique chemise or slip dress was sourced in Italy and is in superb condition. Made from a heavy white cotton, it has embroidered scalloped details around the square neckline and armholes. Other embroidered details embellish the front of the bodice. A charming detail is the original owner's initials, BL, embroidered on the right underarm. The front and back sections come together at the shoulder with working mother-of-pearl buttons. The sides have fine hand-stitched French seams and the bottom hem is also hand stitched. PLEASE NOTE that although this garment will fit a size Large, it appears to have been made for a short person, as the armholes are somewhat shallow. This can be easily remedied by adding a piece of fabric where the front and back shoulder straps meet and moving the buttons. It can also be modified for a smaller size by simply taking in the side seams. Measurements are listed below and also shown in the last photo. Please review carefully and ask as many questions as you like before buying, as there are no returns. See photos and use zoom. Superb condition with no stains or damage. This is a sturdy, very wearable garment. It could be worn as intended or as a summer dress or cover-up. We've seen these antique chemises upcycled by dyeing them in a variety of colors, which gives them a unique look. Would also look great displayed on a store mannequin or as a stage or photo prop.
