These Quilt Coloring Pages work with three different star blocks:

1) The Friendship Star
2) The Sawtooth Star
3) The Ohio Star

I took one block at a time and designed a quilt using it. The quilts I designed have five rows of four blocks, or 20 blocks total.

For each of the 20-block-quilts, I used two different layouts. In the first design, I used sashing so that the star block is framed making it very easy to see. In the second layout, I removed the sashing and allowed the stars to butt up to one another. This allows secondary designs to appear in the background.

For each of the 20-block-quilts, I then provided three different colorations. The first shows the framed stars. The second uses the exact colors as the first, but I have removed the sashing so secondary designs emerge in the background, but it is still easy to see the star. The third coloration is the same sash-less version but I tried NOT to find the star and emphasized the emerging background designs instead.

There are four things you will learn from using these pages:

1) Coloring is fun – and relaxing!
2) Coloring is even more fun if you’re coloring quilts!
3) If you have a favorite quilt block, you can make it over and over again, giving it a different look each time by adding or removing sashing and by squinting to see new designs emerge in the background!
4) If you give your kids or friends a copy of the coloring page and let them color it, they will come up with things you never saw!
