John Everett Millais (8 June 1829 – 13 August 1896) was an English painter and illustrator who was one of the founders of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.

- Each wooden wall art piece is hand-made to order and is entirely unique - no two pieces are the same. The exact size, shape, wood grain, stain and gold gilded embellishment could be compared to a human fingerprint!

- We use a range of raw materials and processes to painstakingly hand-craft our wood art pieces - we put a lot of care and attention into our artistic process and ensure each piece meets a high level of quality control. We really do take pride in each piece.

- Each wooden wall art piece features a felt backing, with a simple metal loop hanger, ready to be hung or displayed with pride in your home. All you need to do is decide where to hang it and install your chosen nail/hanger. Alternatively, it looks great propped up on a shelf, sideboard or mantlepiece.

- All pieces are carefully packaged in tissue paper to prevent any surface damage and reduce the impact of moisture, and then snuggly encased in a premium bubble wrap envelope to prevent any impact damage. So far we have a 100% "no damage" record and no deliveries have been lost.

- Postage is free of charge within the UK and below cost for the rest of the world. In the US we participate in the Etsy Free Postage scheme for orders over a certain value. However, please be aware that any orders for delivery to Alaska or Hawaii will be subject to a £5 supplement due to extremely high postage costs. Please contact me before placing your order.


WHAT IS A FLORENTINE RELIC? A GUIDE TO OUR WOOD WALL ART:
A relic is the common name for an item that has significant religious or sentimental value. During the Renaissance period in Florence, Italy, it was common for artworks to be directly painted on to gilded wood - essentially a painting on wood - which was a core part of Catholic art. They might also be described as an antique painting, relic painting, gold leaf painting or rustic painting and were mainly religious artworks. Our pieces aim to recreate the look and feel of those religious antique relics using more modern techniques.

Our wood art pieces are not gilded with real gold, instead we use imitation leaf to achieve an amazing finish at a very affordable price.
