Executor kit for England and Wales in Google Sheets, so you can share it with your co-executor (Excel included). Designed with and reviewed by a UK chartered accountant (ACA).

Answer about 20 plain questions for your own dated to-do list, keep the estate's money straight, and print estate accounts and a statement for each beneficiary. 2026-27 figures, checked against GOV.UK on 29 October 2026. Re-checked against GOV.UK after the 28 October 2026 Budget.

Launch price £10 until 11:59pm UK time on Sunday 15 November 2026, then £14. We're a new shop, so there are no reviews yet: swipe the images to see real pages from a fictional sample estate.

This is the same kit as our Excel listing, with the same 5 files, so you only need one.

WHAT IT DOES FOR YOU

- Builds your own dated to-do list from your answers, with legal deadlines marked separately from suggested target dates. Already a few months in? Tick off what you've done and it starts from there.
- Lets you add your own categories. Totals work from fixed types, so your own words don't break the sums, and the kit flags anything that needs re-picking.
- Before you pay the family, it waits for the end of your Gazette creditors' notice period and the 6-month claim period after the grant, and tells you which date it's waiting for. If there's property and no local-paper notice, it warns you that paying out is at your own risk. It suggests the most you could pay out after debts, tax still to pay and a reserve you choose. Paying out before those dates, or while you know of a debt or claim, is at your own risk.
- Tax: a rough Inheritance Tax estimate that takes in a late husband's, wife's or civil partner's unused allowances, the extra allowance when the home goes to children or grandchildren, and gifts in the last 7 years. It checks whether the estate is likely to be an "excepted estate" and, if so, lists the five values the probate application asks for. It also estimates the estate's own Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax after the death. It doesn't fill in the IHT400 or any tax return for you.
- Produces estate accounts in the usual UK layout (capital, income and distribution), printed on two A4 pages: the accounts, then schedules of the assets, debts and costs, with checks that the sheets agree.
- Prints a one-page statement for each beneficiary, interim or final, with receipt wording.
- Keeps an estate bank ledger with a reconciliation to your statements, a log of your own expenses, a contacts log and 4 letters that fill in names and dates for you.
- Uses current figures, including the £526 probate fee from July 2026.

WHAT'S INSIDE (5 files)

- Read Me First (1-page PDF): how to open your kit, and what to do if a file won't open.
- The workbook (.xlsx): 15 tabs, ready to fill in.
- A sample estate (.xlsx): the same workbook filled in for a fictional person, so you can see how it works.
- Quick Start Guide (PDF), with your Google Sheets copy link.
- Executor First Week checklist (3-page PDF): the first days step by step, a who-to-tell tracker and a page for the key details.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Answer the Start Here questions. 2. Work through your to-do list. 3. List what the person owned and owed. 4. Record every payment in and out of the estate. 5. Print the accounts and a statement for each beneficiary.

WHO IT'S FOR: Executors and administrators in England and Wales doing probate without a solicitor. No accounting knowledge needed: you only type in the pale yellow cells, and technical words are explained in plain English.

WHO IT'S NOT FOR: Scotland or Northern Ireland. Estates with a farm, business, trust or assets abroad, a disputed will, or more debts than money. The kit flags common situations where you should get professional advice.

COMPATIBILITY: Excel 2016 or later (Windows or Mac) and Google Sheets (needs a free Google account). Not Apple Numbers. No macros. On an iPad, the free Google Sheets app is the easiest option.

IF A FILE WON'T OPEN: Message us and we'll help you sort it, or send the files another way. We reply within 2 working days. If something in the kit doesn't work as described, we'll send a corrected version within 5 working days, or refund you if we can't fix it. This doesn't affect your legal rights.

FREE UPDATES FOR 12 MONTHS: Every tab shows the date the figures were checked against GOV.UK. When figures or rules change, we update the kit: message us and we'll send you the new version free.

PLEASE READ: This kit is a record-keeping tool, not legal or tax advice. England and Wales only. The checks confirm the sheets agree with each other; they can't check that what you type is right. You remain responsible for the estate's decisions. TrueAndFairSheets doesn't prepare accounts or give advice, and the accountant hasn't reviewed your figures.

HOW THIS KIT WAS MADE: The workbook and the PDF guides were made with the help of AI tools, to an accountant's design. Designed with and reviewed by a UK chartered accountant (ACA). The rates and thresholds it uses were checked against GOV.UK, and before release it was tested on 75 test cases built around a fictional sample estate.

LICENCE: One kit for one estate. You can share it with your co-executors and the beneficiaries of that estate. Professionals: please message us.

FAQ

Does it work in Numbers? No. Use Excel, or Google Sheets (free).
Will it tell me if I need a solicitor? It flags common situations where you should get advice. If you're unsure, ask a professional.
Does it send anything to HMRC or the Probate Registry? No. It gets your figures together; you still fill in and send the forms yourself.
