CAVANA DESIGN- LIFELONG LOVE !!!
Bonjour! Je m’appelle Valerie Perez-Prosick. Je suis né à New York et j’ai grandi à Pottsville en Pennsylvanie. Je suis amoureux de l’art et des bijoux depuis mon plus jeune âge. Au lycée, j’ai suivi tous les cours d’art que je pouvais, y compris la fabrication de bijoux. Ce fut le coup de foudre ! J’ai eu la chance de fréquenter la Pennsylvania Governor’s School of the Arts au cours de ma première année et de gagner un Art Scolarship ma dernière année. Cela m’a permis de fréquenter la prestigieuse Tyler School of Art (Temple University), où j’ai obtenu mon BFA en design de bijoux et métallurgie.
Il y a quelques années, j’ai lancé ma propre entreprise de bijoux: CAVANA DESIGN, en hommage à mon défunt père, Valerio, dont j’ai été nommé. Il est venu dans ce pays en tant que boxeur et cuisinier. Après s’être blessé à la main, il ne pouvait plus boxer. Il a décidé d’ouvrir son propre restaurant CAVANA - nommé d’après ses 3 filles: CAroline, VAlerie, & NAtalie.
J’ai lancé ma ligne au NYC One of a Kind Show & Sale 2009, j’ai eu la chance de recevoir des critiques élogieuses non seulement du public, mais aussi des prévisionnistes de l’industrie! Mon travail a été exposé au Pennsylvania Art of the State 2014, présenté dans Art Jewelry Magazine, Gift Shop Magazine & Jewelers International Quarterly, ainsi que dans des publications locales et à la télévision. Pour ces honneurs, je suis vraiment reconnaissant!
Je réside actuellement à Frackville, en Pennsylvanie, avec mon mari, David, et nos 3 chats. Je travaille à partir de mon home studio, ce qui me permet de travailler sur ma créativité à tout moment!
Mon travail est en constante évolution! J’AIME me mettre au défi avec de nouveaux processus et de nouvelles techniques. Vous le verrez dans mon travail. Pour moi, ART est tout au sujet de la façon dont nous apprenons et évoluons. La fabrication de bijoux est une histoire sans fin!
Hello! I am Valerie Perez-Prosick. I was born in New York City and raised in Pottsville Pennsylvania. I have been in love with art & with jewelry from a young age. In High School I took every art class I could, including jewelry making. It was love at first sight! I was fortunate enough to attend the Pennsylvania Governor's School of the Arts in my junior year, and to win an Art Scolarship my senior year. This allowed me to attend the prestigious Tyler School of Art (Temple University), where I received my BFA in Jewelry Design & Metalsmithing.
A few years ago, I started my own jewelry business: CAVANA DESIGN, in tribute to my late father, Valerio, of whom I was named after. He came to this country as a boxer & a cook. After injuring his hand, he could no longer box. He decided to open is own restaurant CAVANA- named after his 3 daughters: CAroline, VAlerie, & NAtalie.
I debuted my line at the 2009 NYC One of a Kind Show & Sale I was blessed to recieve rave reviews not only by the public, but by industry forecasters! My work as been exhibited at the 2014 Pennsylvania Art of the State, featured in Art Jewelry Magazine, Gift Shop Magazine & Jewelers International Quarterly, as well as local publications & television. For these honors I am truly thankful!
I currently reside in Frackville, Pennsylvania , with my husband,David, & our 3 cats. I work out of my at home studio, which allows me to work on my creativity at a moments notice!
My work is ever-changing! I LOVE to challenge myself with new processes & new techniques. You will see this in my work. For me ART is all about how we learn & evolve. Jewelry making is a never ending story!
