Als ich aufwuchs, war ich nicht das, was man als „kreativen“ Menschen bezeichnen würde. Ich mochte Wissenschaft, Fakten, Zahlen und Logik. Und ich ging zur Schule, um Wissenschaftlerin zu werden, wechselte dann den Gang und studierte Jura. Aber Kunst war nicht Teil des Plans.
Dennoch fühlte ich mich schon immer von der natürlichen Welt und der Grenze zwischen der natürlichen Welt und der skurrilen Fantasie angezogen. Als ich im Wald bei der Feldarbeit saß, wanderten meine Gedanken auch zu den Waldgeistern und Feen, die ich mir jenseits der Welt vorstellen konnte, die wir wahrnehmen konnten.
Als ich während der Corona-Lockdowns verzweifelt nach Ablenkung suchte, griff ich zum Pinsel. Und ich habe mich verliebt.
Ich bin ein autodidaktischer Aquarellkünstler und lasse mich von der Natur inspirieren. Ich hoffe, dass Ihnen meine Kunst gefällt und dass sie auch Farbe und Laune in Ihr Leben bringen kann!
Growing up, I wasn't what you'd consider a "creative" person. I liked science and facts and figures and logic. And I went to school to become a scientist, then switched gears and went to law school. But art wasn't part of the plan.
Yet, I've always been drawn to the natural world and the line between the natural world and the whimsical imagination. Sitting in the forest doing field work, my mind also wandered to the wood spirits and fairies I could imagine just beyond the world we could perceive.
So during COVID lock downs, when I was desperate for a distraction, I picked up a paint brush. And I fell in love.
I am a self-taught watercolor artist, and I find inspiration from the natural world. I hope you enjoy my art and it can bring color and whimsy into your life as well!
