This is a Digital Pattern to create your own Regency Gown! This dress design features an empire bodice with double darts on either side of the bodice and puffed sleeves. The bodice can be made and worn with one of two skirt variations, the circle skirt or the paneled skirt. This patten includes both versions of the dress.
The Circle Skirt Version of the dress has a full circle skirt. This dress has a lovely drape and full circumference to the bottom edge of the dress. However, the circle skirt style has some limitations, you will need fabric with a wider width, and it is not suitable for obvious directional designs. Trimming and hemming this version may prove to be a little more tricky for some. Circle Skirt Version example is the pink dress.
The Paneled Skirt Version is inspired by historical silhouettes and cuts, and for this version you are able to extend the back and side panels for a train. This style is more accommodating to different fabric widths, and fabrics with directional designs. However this version does not have the full width and drama of the circle skirt. Paneled Skirt Version example is the purple dress.
With both skirt variations you can enjoy a variety of looks and styles with this pattern.
