Ich bin noch nie gut darin gewesen, mich nur auf ein Handwerk zu konzentrieren.

Ich biete Polsterarbeiten und Möbelrestaurierung in der Region an und bin außerdem im Großraum Charlotte, NC, im Bereich Ballonkunst und Unterhaltung tätig.

Ich betreibe auch alle Arten von Näharbeiten: Kleideränderungen, Sticken und vieles mehr. Ich flechte Körbe aus Kiefernnadeln und häkle.

Darüber hinaus fasziniert mich Chemie. Nicht nur die Arbeit mit Bechergläsern im Labor (obwohl das auch eine Rolle spielt), sondern auch, warum manche Brote eine herrlich knusprige Kruste haben, während andere labberig sind. Warum bräunt gebrauchtes Frittieröl besser als neues?

Und diese Faszination für Chemie hat mich dazu gebracht, meine eigenen hochwertigen Seifen herzustellen und mich immer tiefer in die Welt der Lotionen, Spülungen, Balsame und Körperbutter zu vertiefen.

Und all das – Seifenherstellung, Nähen, Ballons, Korbflechten und vieles mehr – habe ich in meiner Freizeit unentgeltlich und mit Freude gemacht. Meine Frau, die unsere Kreditkartenschulden abbezahlen und für eine Anzahlung auf ein Haus sparen möchte, findet, dass ich meine vielfältigen Fähigkeiten kommerziell nutzen sollte. I do upholstery and furniture refinishing locally, and I also do Balloon art and entertainment in the greater Charlotte NC area.

Beyond these I am fascinated by chemistry. Not like beakers in a lab (though that too) but why some bread has a great crispy crust while others are limp. Why does used fryer oil brown better than new oil?

And this fascination for chemistry has led me down the road to making my own high end soaps, and down deeper rabbit holes of lotions, conditioners, balms, and body butters.
