The Designer
My name is Ev and I am the artist behind Ev's Collection. My background is in Social Work and art is one of my biggest passions. I believe that art can express, celebrate, and advocate in ways that words cannot. I am a proud Black Latina (Puerto Rico & Costa Rica) and much of my experience and positionality influence the work that I do. The goal of my art is to connect with the deeper parts of you. I want you to be able to find your expression, celebrate who you are, and feel like someone is advocating on your behalf. Thanks for choosing to embark on the journey with me!
The Brand
¡Que lo que! What's up mi gente! I'm honored that you would take the time to get to know a little bit more about my brand and the products behind it. I love art. It's a way for me to express my love, celebrate my happiness, and advocate for my community. I started sharing my art because I believe that there is a story not being told, a story I want to share as a Black Latina who is choosing to intentionally take up space in spaces that often silence black and brown voices. A lot of my pieces have highlighted the pain and anger I felt when constantly experiencing the amplification of the white, male, and cisgender voice. But now, more than ever, my art embraces and celebrates who I am and those whom I love and inspire me. I've always explored with different mediums of art, and my love for art expanded to the digital realm in 2017 when I was employed as a Social Media Director. I debuted my first combined piece on November 10, 2017, on a shirt I made with the performance of a poem called "End Euro-Centric Adventistm." I hope to continue to express, celebrate, and advocate alongside you. Thank you for all of the love and support. Please enjoy this beautiful celebration of our communities and feel free to reach out!
