Ich bin Athena, eine französisch-zyprische Illustratorin. Mein Leben lang habe ich zwischen Sprachen, Kulturen und Küsten gelebt. Irgendwann wurde mir klar, dass alles, was ich schaffe, letztendlich auf dasselbe hinausläuft: die visuelle Klarheit der Orte, die mich geprägt haben. Das Rosa der Bougainvillea vor weißem Stein. Die Ägäis, die geometrische Linien in den Horizont zeichnet. Die Wärme sonnenverbrannter Erde.
Jedes Stück in diesem Shop ist inspiriert von einem Ort, den ich besucht habe, einer Kultur, die ich liebe, oder einer Zutat (einer Farbe, einem Duft oder einem Wort), die Beachtung verdient. Meine Illustrationen sind ausdrucksstark und klar, bestehen aus einfachen Formen und einer Farbpalette, die immer wieder zu denselben warmen Tönen zurückkehrt.
Was ist Athinaki, fragen Sie? So nannte mich mein Großvater schon als Kind. Dieser Laden ist ihm gewidmet: dem Menschen, bei dem ich mich am wohlsten fühlte.
Ich fertige diese Drucke an, weil manche Orte es verdienen, ein Teil von dir zu sein. Ich hoffe, einer davon findet einen Platz an deiner Wand. ♡

I'm Athena, a French-Cypriot illustrator. I've spent most of my life moving between languages, cultures, and coastlines. Somewhere along the way I realized that everything I make comes back to the same thing: the visual clarity of places that have shaped me. Bougainvillea pink against white stone. The Aegean carving geometric lines into the horizon. The warmth of sun-baked soil.
Each piece in this shop starts from a place I've been, a culture I love, or an ingredient (a color, a scent or a word) that deserves attention. My illustrations are bold and clean, built from simple shapes and a palette that always finds its way back to the same warm tones.
What is Athinaki, you ask? It's what my grandfather used to call me when I was a child. This shop is a tribute to him: the person I felt most at home with.
I make these prints because some places deserve to stay with you. I hope one of them finds a wall in your home. ♡
