I admired this for a while before taking the leap, and I am SO glad that I did! Her pottery feels wonderful in the hand, and you will reach for it all the time. Beautiful art that is highly functional, and an amazing way to help redefine our relationship with food in a positive way!

Greenware pieces, dry but not yet fired, ready to be loaded into my kiln for bisque firing in preparation for glaze. -
After the bisque fire, pieces are ready for glaze to be applied then they are fired again. Tah-dah! -
My back porch is not enclosed so when leaves fall, it is time for me to call an end to my throwing season. (May-Oct) -
Starting with a ball of clay to a finished glazed piece of pottery takes four to six weeks.

Custom and personalized orders
Due to my time restraints, I do not take on custom orders. I will be selling only ready to ship items as time allows.
Shipping
I ship ready made items USPS with tracking from my shop within 1 to 3 business days (Monday - Friday).
Understand that the shipping dates given by Etsy and USPS are ESTIMATED delivery dates.
Shipping delays are out of my control once your order is accepted with USPS; therefore, I do not guarantee delivery dates.
Is all of your pottery handmade by you?
Yes! 😊 All of my pottery pieces are handmade by me on my back porch May through October. Because my pottery is handmade each piece is truly unique. No two pieces are alike. I design, hand build, throw, glaze, fire, package and ship every piece of pottery you see available in my shop. Each piece is photographed by me and each photograph represents the actual pottery piece you will receive.
Care instructions
My pottery is dishwasher safe though hand-washing is recommended for handmade pottery to ensure longevity
My pottery is microwave safe; however, use a microwave with caution. Stoneware is very good at retaining heat.
Be cautious with sudden temperature changes (e.g., cold to hot or from hot to cold) to avoid thermal shock (e.g., moving directly from the fridge to the microwave or from the microwave to fridge).
Do you accept returns?
If you wish to return an item, you are responsible for return shipping costs and the item must be in original condition and packaging.
I can create a return label for you so all you will need to do is print the return label and affix it to the returned package. Once the package is returned to me, I will deduct the price of shipping/label from your refund amount.
OR
You can purchase your own label from the USPS local post office. Return to BackPorch Studio (see return address on your label or contact me for the address). Please make sure to purchase a label with tracking and pass along the tracking number to me. Once the package is returned to me, I will issue you your refund.
Do you accept exchanges?
Because each piece I make is truly unique and one of a kind, there is no identical replacement available, making an exchange impossible.
