Unique Collectibles, Creative Art and Small Unusual Interesting Antiques
Best of Both Worlds (BestofbothWorlds) is the name of my store. This is where you find it:

I chose this name as it fits in with what I believe in. I sell items I believe are not only useful, and visually appealing, but have a a "spirit" within them... Certain tangible items seem to call out my name when I am on the "hunt". I may be inclined to purchase them if they catch my eye and hold it a bit more than anything else I come across. I can then show them off in my store, and perhaps share them with you.
I am a collector of antiques and unusual quality made items anywhere from the late 1800's to the 1990's. My favorite mediums are artful paintings, sculptures, pottery and glass. I like that which lifts up my Spirit and does not let it down.
I dabble in the arts an crafts and work with pride in all that I make. I design and sell some of my own jewelry. I make stained glass and mosaic pieces. I paint with acrylics and oils and sell them from time to time. Unfortunately, right now, my artistic spirit is somewhat curtailed. I do have a full daytime job now because of the economy....
My late husband Ron helped me sell his wonderful original stainless steel Southwestern 3D designs that you might see as sold. There will be no more.
I will be blunt. I do not think "Made in China" is the way to go. I speak from my heart as an American. We have deserted our craftsmen in the USA and other parts of the world without thinking, to bring in cheap junk to our stores at low prices, and that is a shame. Cheap is not better. There are still a few survivors amidst the stubble, that hang onto the old Way of the Master Craftsman. They can teach us their craft, but they are going fast and are few compared to the past. They stand out as untainted, and leave a trail of beauty in the path behind them that I can appreciate and share. The words, "Made in the USA" on any product was sought after and a thing of pride! That was many years ago now. But competition with "cheap" is hard in this time period. They were pushed away for the fast and abberant pace.
One way we can bring back our desirable productions with pride again, is to teach our children to desire and support quality and uniqueness, not quantity and cheapness. Purchase the things that last, at a higher price because they are made better. Pass over those that are cheap and poorly made. If you look closely you can see that they will break soon after they are purchased, because of quick careless production and inferiority.
But I do love Etsy! It is a place where one can find wonderful and creative things and sell some the same. I love the "treasure hunt" that initiates the sell. Etsy helps me make it through these long days and nights.
I have also found a niche in the "Treasury" option on etsy. It has become a bit addictive for me. I enjoy creating a palate of entertaining Treasuries; each one being unique in itself, with featured items connected together and a common intriguing theme. They are like a mosaic pattern. I place the 16 featured items strategically within my carefully chosen themes.
If you wish, you can visit my many Treasuries by clicking on this link:
