Nature reimagined in silver
Many years ago, I started my jewelry making journey with the bowls of vintage silver spoons, pressed flowers from my back porch and resin. I loved preserving bits of nature in this unique and wearable way. BloomSpoons was born and grew from there.
Fast forward 6 years and I yearned for a way to honor the native flowers I'd spend countless weekend hours searching for just to see in person! I began tinkering with the idea of metalsmithing and although I had no local resources, found a day class with a fellow ladysmith a day's drive away. After that class, I was hooked and knew silver would be the perfect way for me to express my love for these mountains I call home. Moving forward, I transformed into A Lady's Slipper Studio.
I spend so much time thinking about flowers and ferns, flora and fauna and hope that passion shows in my work. The Appalachians are a remarkable place to live and explore and when you wear a piece of my jewelry, I hope you can feel that sense of magic.
Each piece of my metalwork is handcrafted using sheets of silver and wire that I saw, file, hammer and solder and evidence of each piece being handcrafted is visible. I like that about my pieces and hope you do as well.
Made from my heart, by my hands.
xoxo
