About

After 3 years, we've changed names from CheezyKrafts to CK Underground!

I've always been interested in creating things. I can remember as far back as my mother teaching me to thread a needle without anything except my "steady" sugar-wired, little-kid hand and spending hours with plastic canvas and yarn making Christmas presents for the family. Eventually I got into model painting and the construction of anything (from electronics to play scenery pieces for the Herberger Theater) but I wanted to learn more. Everything I've hungered to learn, I've learned to do very well. As an adult, my creativity exploded adding ceramics and analog photography, but any creative marketable skills were put on hold until years later due to school.

In 2008, my mother called me and told me she and my brother just signed up for a local Wilton cake decorating class. She asked me if I wanted to join and I did. Both of them finished the 4 week basic class and stopped. I moved on to take every class I have heard of (that I could afford). I like to especially work with fondant and gumpaste to create cakes that look like anything but. I aspire to make the Weasley House for a birthday or wedding some day.

In 2011, my mother's birthday was coming up and I was pretty broke. I figured, I'd make her something awesome that she can't buy in stores so that it didn't look like I was slacking. My plans got canceled one Friday night with 2 weeks to go and I spent an entire - and boy do I mean ENTIRE - weekend learning how to make soap (and make it pretty!) and bath related products like my cupcake bath bombs. I went to stores, ordered my needed starter things, put together my first batch, and gave it to her - gift basket style. She loved it, and believe me when I say I can tell when my mom thinks things are "fine." I realized then that if I got better, learned more, and started collecting more ingredients as I tried out recipes little by little, I might possibly make this into a business. I had high hopes of being able to sell gumpaste design sprays for wedding cakes but had nothing but failure during shipping tests. Soap doesn't have nearly the same fragility that gumpaste or fondant does.

I only got into the fancier soaps, called the Elegant Line in my store, later on. I produced orange slices, donuts, ice cream sugar scrubs, and bath bombs so heavenly that I knew I would draw a crowd. I decided that I needed a theme to keep on track. Since I have spent so much time in the kitchen making cakes and sugar art look like anything but what they are, my soaps are themed the opposite in that they have an ingredient of food in them, smell like food, and/or look like food. But be careful not to eat them no matter how yummy they look and smell! The store, which started as soap and bath products, officially opened in September 2014.

In 2015, I learned and financed enough to start my leather shop which has really taken the forte of my time and attention. Whether it be for the adventurous partier or behold the beauty that leather has, I aim to learn it all. If you are local to the Phoenix metropolitan area, I do custom corsetry - leather or fabric - and can meet for fitting appointments. Previous to this, I befriended Nix, owner of Firebird Leather, and she has helped me immensely throughout the years since I started my leatherwork journey. We often vend at the same events together now.

In 2017, I was commissioned by Justin Sayne Leather for production of crocodile leather items and fashion using lambskin and deer. That was one of the most fun work experiences of my life!

Growing: I'm working on doing more of the convention circuit in the Southwest and West parts of the US. I'll be coming out with my first couple of leather fashion lines in the next few months - bikinis and different leather corset styles that you haven't seen anywhere else. Ideally I'll be moving into a new studio to stretch my creative wings in the next 6 months.

My store focuses on leatherwork, which is my main hobby, and I specialize in unique leather fashion, restraints, one-of-a-kind ideas.

I am a whip enthusiast and currently make custom nylon whips of many lengths, colors, and types. Don't be limited with my current listings, contact me and I'll make your preferred design.

All of my hand-crafted soaps have one thing in common: food. I'm a baker-ette as a hobby since 2008 and professional cake decorator, however, I can't seem to ship a wedding cake so I do the next best thing. Since I spent so much time making cakes and baking items look like anything but food, my soaps are themed the opposite in that all have an ingredient of food, smell like food, or are designed to look like food.

But that's not all! I am a jack-of-all-trades creator and am always learning how to work with new mediums and textiles. Kevlar is one of my favorites and I do have some fire play/performance items for sale as well as plans for more.

Returns and exchange details
Soap, Hygiene-Related, and Bath Products Only:
Due to the nature of personal hygiene products, we will not accept exchanges/returns in this category unless your order arrived damaged by shipping. Please contact us promptly as your order has shipping insurance. It is up to the buyer whether they would like a replacement to their damaged (by shipping) order or to cancel and receive a refund - this is for non-custom orders only. Custom orders will be replaced and shipped as soon as possible after notification of damage. Please include a picture of the damage for insurance purposes when messaging.

All CK Underground Products:
If there is damage due to shipping, please inform us asap to get you a replacement and for us to contact USPS as all packages are insured. Full refunds will be issued for canceled orders within 24 hours of ordering. No refunds or returns for customized, made to order items that are filled correctly according to provided specifications but without damage due to shipping or incorrect packaging.

We do guarantee that your order will be filled correctly and refunds/replacements will be granted up to 30 days after initial shipping for incorrect, non-damaged orders. CK Underground will pay for all shipping related to getting the incorrect item back to us and the correct item out to you for our mistake. If your order is filled incorrectly and you choose to receive a full refund instead of a replacement (buyer's choice), you will need to send back the incorrect item prior to receiving your full refund & this shipping will be reimbursed by CK Underground upon receiving a copy of the shipping receipt. Refunds & cancellations of orders prior to shipping in stock items or starting production on custom/made to order items but after the initial 24 hrs are on a case by case basis - please send a conversation as soon as possible but know that it is not guaranteed.

Refunds/returns after shipping are not accepted if there is no damage to the item due to shipping, the item has been used or worn (see hygiene section above), or if the item was made to order and filled correctly.

Leather Products Only:
CK Underground stands by our leather! All hardware within our leather is guaranteed for 6 months from date of purchase. That means if you have a rivet or D-ring pop off, I will fix it. CK Underground will pay for shipping to fix damage not caused by misuse of items - see each listing for specifics & message me if you have questions on the use of any items in the store (preferably prior to ordering). No CK Underground leather product is meant for full suspensions of human beings or animals and damage from this is not covered. There are several items marked as able to handle "partial suspensions" which is defined here as: half or more of the wearer's weight is held up by the ground or safe structure they are standing/laying/kneeling/squatting/sitting/or otherwise are on and half or less of the wearer's weight is held up by the product in the listing that is being used.

Items Requiring Measurements:
For items that are listed as requiring measurements in order to be made, production of these items, whether it's custom or a regular listing in the shop, will not start until measurements are provided from the buyer. This can be via conversations, the note to seller area at checkout, or via drop down boxes in the individual listing. This rule trumps my production time frame listed. Even if you are at the top of the queue, your item cannot physically be made without measurements. CK Underground reserves the right to send reminders to the buyer if measurements are not given at the time of ordering. All collars require measurements to be made - in some cases, sizes will be labeled in listings to allow the buyer to pick a range. If a collar is for a certain size neck only, it will be clearly labeled in the listing.

How to Measure:
When measuring, remember you want a snug fit that isn't pulling on skin or uncomfortably tight. I use the "2 finger rule" which means, you should be able to slip 2 fingers comfortably under the tape measure during any measurements - necks especially. Please utilize the American measurement standard in inches rounded up to the nearest half inch.

If Measurements are Wrong:
MOST items requiring measurements can be fixed or resized. It is generally easier to make things smaller than larger.

If a CK Underground product was made with incorrect measurements other than what the buyer provides (as in, we filled your order incorrectly) and the item does not fit right, CK Underground will pay for all shipping related to getting the item repaired and back to the buyer as listed and with their given measurements.

If the ordered item is made to the measurements the buyer provided, and the item does not fit as described in the listing, CK Underground will repair/resize the item at no extra cost ONE TIME ONLY, shipping both ways paid by the buyer, if resizing is possible. However, there will be cases where this is not possible or to do it would severely alter the appearance of the item. It is best to ask ahead of time if you have concerns over measurements. If the item in question is not resizable or would incur significant aesthetic alterations to repair to the point where it would no longer look like the listed item, CK Underground will not repair or resize without discussion of a new listing at additional costs, to be determined on a case by case basis. In addition to this, the buyer will be responsible for paying for shipping both to get the item back for repair and for CK Underground to reship the fixed item back to the buyer. If it is not cost efficient to the buyer to resize an item in this category due to needing significant alterations listed above, which is determined by the buyer after discussion, the item will fall into the category of "All CK Underground Products" in this refund section of the shop policies and will not be eligible for return or refund.
Payment
CK Underground accepts credit and debit cards via Etsy and Paypal, Etsy gift cards, and if we are lucky enough to find you at in-person vending, we also take cash and the Paypal reader for Visa, Mastercard, Amex, & Discover on the spot. Payments are required to clear before in stock orders are mailed & for custom work to start production. At this time, we do not request tax payments on online ordering - this may change as CK Underground grows.

If you order and payment is not received in 7 calendar days, your order will be automatically canceled without notice and will not be shipped. CK Underground may or may not send a reminder requesting payment prior to cancellation. You are welcome to cancel your order within 24 hours. Processing/making time will vary on quantity and what you are ordering but will be filled within the time frame specified in each listing. Custom leatherwork has about a 2 week turn-around time from when payment is received to when I will ship it out. In stock leather items will be shipped much sooner. If you'd like to know if a particular item with particular features (colors, design, etc) is already in stock, send an Etsy conversation and I'll let you know.

If you have ANY questions about payment policies or to request an exception due to extenuating circumstances, please contact Michelle via Etsy as soon as possible after ordering, but preferably prior to ordering. CK Underground stands by our products and want to be as fair to you, our awesome customers, as is possible.
Shipping
Different products have different time frames, see each individual listing for more specific information. We use USPS Priority Mail 2 or 3 day shipping with tracking and up to $50 in insurance for most items. Long items and things that include straps and belts require a tube shape to ship and will be calculated by your zip code instead of being flat rate. Etsy has a feature that emails a tracking number to you once the shipping label is made so that you know when you'll expect your CK Underground product to arrive. We generally schedule the email to go to you the morning after your order has shipped. We now ship internationally! My listings do not offer faster shipping, however, if you contact me and are willing to pay the extra $30+ for overnight shipping via USPS priority express mail for items that are already in stock, I can do this via a custom listing and mail it the same day I receive your payment. There are some days I cannot respond to messages here. This unfortunately may make some requests for overnight shipping impossible.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom Orders:
If you have an idea for a custom soap using my current stock of ingredients and soap types, or a custom leather anything (I like a challenge), I'd be happy to discuss it. If I can do it and we can come to an agreement, I'll make an Etsy listing specifically for your creativity and then make it happen! Send me a message, our imagination is the limit!

I also have the ability to sew leather. It opens up the possibilities for new ideas as well as a lot of leather work sellers do not have this option and solely use rivets to hold their wares together.

*Denotes a "non-bleeding" color:
Pigments in soap migrate over time if they are not oxides or labeled as "non-bleeding." This can be good in the use of gradients between colors during curing or really bad if crisp lines between colors or color & white is needed. It does take several weeks for whites to darken to a different hue or before a hard-to-distinguish, solid gradient mix between layers can be formed for "bleeding" colorants. So it is possible to choose colors for custom orders that are NOT listed as "non-bleeding," receive them with crisp lines, and use them prior to this ever happening. This depends on your color desires, how fast we report the shipping in each listing, and how fast you intend on using the product once it arrives. If you choose "bleeding" colorants for your custom order, we do not guarantee perfectly crisp lines between colors and this cannot be a reason for returns/refunds (see our refunds policy for details).

"House Stock" Fragrances:
You may see the words "house stock" on some of my listings under fragrance type. I get samplers of fragrances through my suppliers and sometimes I'm not too fond of the scent or it doesn't work with the type of products I have listed but is still nice and usable for a custom order. These change as they come in, are used, and I decide not to order more. You are welcome to contact me to find out the current house stock fragrances if you'd like to choose this option but want a little more information. Think of it as a potpourri fragrance. You are also welcome to pick your stock fragrance during communication, before or after ordering, if there is more than one choice available.

Frequently asked questions
Do you sell your silicone balls for your ball gags individually?

No, I do not sell my supplies that I have to purchase in bulk from other Etsy sellers. However, message me and I will direct you to where I buy them and you can make a deal with that seller directly.

I have an idea and I want to know if you can make it?

If you can give me a sketch or really good idea of what you want made and it is within the types of art mediums that I can do, I can make it happen. Send me an Etsy conversation.

Do you ship internationally?

Yup!!

Do you have a retail store?

Not currently but I do vending in person at local shows in Arizona and surrounding states. Send me a message if you'd like to know where I'm showing up next.

Can you ship overnight?

Yes, however, sometimes my buyers live where the post office will not guarantee overnight delivery. If you are willing to pay the difference in shipping (which can be higher than $50) and USPS priority mail express can guarantee to get it to you overnight, then yes. Provided I can physically fill your order and get to the post office prior to their deadline for overnight shipping. Due to my schedule, there may be an additional rush fee for this service.

Do you ship discreetly?

Yes. I use USPS priority mail boxes and the return address will only have "CK Underground" as the sender.

Do you do gift wrapping services?

Yes! For a small additional fee, this feature is available. I use generic solid and usually shiny colors and eye-catching prints. I don't use wrapping paper that is very specific to any one holiday (unless you count using reds for Christmas and Valentine's Day). Matching ribbons/bows included unless you tell me otherwise. Tags will only be included if you tell me what to write in the notes to seller when ordering.
