It Starts Today
In order for me to tell how I got here, I have to go back to the beginning -- to where it all started. In January 2010, my life life took a dramatic turn. One I didn't see coming. Most people change their lives because they have to, but that didn't happen to me. A simple question asked by a friend started the avalanche of deeper meaning that evolved into something I could never have imagined. It began with the pondering of what our lives were destined to be and I answered, "Maybe we're ready to receive it now." To this day, I don't know where those words came from but began to see immediate changes in my outlook on life and words that seemed to spring from somewhere unknown before. As these words constantly crept to the surface, I began to share this new awakening with others and decided to share this story in a blog. It became merely an online journal to which people all over the world began to find and recognize someone in it. During this time, I also connected with someone I would never have imagined and her impact on my life because she believed in me changed me for good. As our friendship grew closer, I began to truly fall in love with the life I was given and for the time, entrusted my journey to my heart. "Rocky" and I began to ask ourselves the hard, soul searching questions about what our lives were like and how we could change them and as we both encouraged each other to chase our dreams, we realized that we needed to follow through. As I continued to blog, I also had quotes about life that seemed to sprout whenever they could...even in the middle of the night.
What began as something that I could not understand has now been fully accepted and I can only equate to as a calling. This journey is not a choice -- it is in fact, my purpose. Speaking engagements seemed to come my way without much effort and with some hesitation, I also found a need to create a women's empowerment group in my hometown. I continue to speak at a variety of different venues -- with baseball coaches, National Honor Society students, the unemployed, and nurses, just to name a few.
I also felt that the next step was to write a book, so I did. It based off of the blog postings that I had written, but put into chapters for easier reading and referencing for later. I self-published, "It's Time: Changing Your Life Starts Today" was listed on Amazon.com in September of 2013.
Creating digital files of my quotes was a constant learning process just as I was learning more about who I was and who I wanted to be. I had not lived (I survived and existed) prior to January 2010 and I want to take full advantage of whatever time I have as that will be my lasting legacy.
The life I lead is not about money...it never has been. In fact, there is no amount of money that can feed my soul as much as someone telling me that what I write makes them think...or that they feel like I am writing just to them...or that I give them hope.
This store is meant to remind us all of who we are and who we want to be...to inspire is to give more than we take...to understand that change happens...to appreciate our gifts...to believe in the impossible...to do what we need to do to live our BEST lives. It Starts Today!
