Hand-forged, with love, for you
Ich habe 2009 angefangen, Schmuck herzustellen, als ich mir vor dem 50. Geburtstag Schmuckunterricht gönnte. Seitdem habe ich von meinem Gästezimmer (praktisch, aber ich habe immer wieder Edelsteine im Teppich verloren) zu einem richtigen Studio im The Art House in Wakefield aufgestiegen, wo ich Unterstützung und Inspiration von vielen anderen Künstlern bekomme. Ach ja, und wir essen auch ziemlich viel Kuchen.
Neben der Herstellung von Schmuck erstelle ich auch digitale und handgefertigte Drucke mit Fraktalen. Es gibt hier ein Crossover mit Schmuck, da ich einige der Fraktale auswähle, die ich erzeugt habe, und sie in Silber ätze, die ich dann verwende, um einzigartige Stücke herzustellen. Ich liebe Fraktale, denn obwohl sie wirklich abstrakte Formen sind, kann man sie auf alle möglichen Arten interpretieren.
Ich mache Schmuck, weil ich es liebe, schöne Dinge aus Metall zu kreieren, und ich stecke diese Liebe in jedes Stück, das ich mache. Deshalb ist mein Slogan 'Forging Metal with Soul'.
I started making jewellery in 2009 when I treated myself to jewellery lessons as a pre-50th birthday present. Since then, I've graduated from my spare bedroom (convenient, but I kept losing gemstones in the carpet) to a proper studio at The Art House in Wakefield, where I get support and inspiration from lots of other artists. Oh yes, and we eat quite a lot of cake as well.
As well as making jewellery I also create digital and handmade prints, using fractals. There is a cross-over with jewellery here as I select some of the fractals I've generated and etch them into silver which I then use to fabricate unique pieces. I love fractals because although they are truly abstract forms, you can interpret them in all kinds of ways.
I make jewellery because I love creating beautiful things out of metal and I put that love into each piece I make. That's why my strapline is 'Forging Metal with Soul'.
